CAMPUS SUMMARY
Since its beginnings in 1916, Bank Street College has been a leader in progressive education. The college is comprised of the Graduate School of Education and the School for Children - a wonderful combination. Grounded in learner-centered humanistic traditions, Bank Street College is committed to providing outstanding educational theory and practice for graduate students. Located on Manhattan's Upper West Side in a largely residential neighborhood, the college is only half a block from Broadway. Our students have easy access to the city's parks, rivers, museums, restaurants and theaters.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The college offers master’s degree programs in Education including Bilingual Education, Infant and Parent Development and Early Intervention, Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Special Education, Early Adolescence Education, and Museum Education. We also have programs leading to certification in both Elementary Education and Special Education, and we have a program in Reading and Literacy. Our programs in Educational Leadership include Early Childhood Leadership, Educational Leadership, Leadership in Mathematics Education, Leadership in Museum Education, and Supervision and Administration in the Visual Arts. In all of our programs we provide learner-centered education through small classes combined with extensive supervised fieldwork and advisement. All of our programs reflect our commitment to education that is based on sound developmental principles and on diverse opportunities for leaning through experience.
